What is Pilot Light Records?
Pilot Light Records is a Norwalk, CT-based music marketing company that empowers independent music artists. We help artists build a strong foundation, unlock their commerercial potential, develop a fan base, and ignite their Google, social media, and digital presence.
What services does Pilot Light Records provide?
We offer a broad, and in-depth menu of "Major Label" quality record label services, at a flexible and affordable price point for independent artist. The list includes everything from music/video distribution, music marketing, radio/tour/streaming promotion, publicity/press services, digital advertising, Meta-Pixel advertising, social media content development and management to Google-certified YouTube channel management, video promotion and more.
Can I hire Pilot Light Records for individual services?
Yes. Pilot Light Records services are available on an ad-hoc (as needed) basis, as well as part of a more evolved music marketing program. Our clients include independent artists, music managers, and other smaller independent, traditional record labels.
Does Pilot Light Records offer advanced music marketing?
Yes. Though we are happy to provide our services a la carte, where Pilot Light Records really shines in providing a highly detailed, custom designed, integrated music marketing and promotional plan to our artists, who we work with on a monthly retainer over a longer period.
We can strategize and manage every aspect of your music /video distribution, including pre-save and post-release promotion, social media marketing and boosting/advertising, social media content development, writing and releasing press releases to the national newswire, using advanced Meta-pixel Spotify to strengthen your algorithmic activity on streaming outlets, advanced Spotify playlist promotion, YouTube channel management, and targeted video promotion, and much more.
Our service begins with a consultative phone call talking through your needs and goals, and this helps us to create a custom plan proposal to help you meet those goals. We will discuss pricing, and scaling our plan to meet your overall budget. We also discuss your release and promotional schedule.
Upon acceptance of our proposal we will then issue a Statement of Work, detailing all work, deliverables, required assets, account access, with a start date to the overall plan.
We have a weekly phone check-in with each of our clients, and provide a bi-monthly report detailing all the work completed. We strive to keep our clients informed, involved, and engaged. We partner with you.
How is Pilot Light Records unique or different?
Pilot Light is a different kind of company by design. We think, and act differently than almost every company in the music marketing space, because of how personal our business is. We are as invested in our passion for your music as you are. We go very deep.
First off, we are the polar opposite those companies that you can only reach by email, or by "filing a ticket" on a website. Our clients know us by name, we pick up their calls, we have weekly phone check-in meetings. We strive to build long-term personal relationships with our artists. We believe in the concept of ROR (Return on Relationship).
Another way are very unique as a label services company is that do the majority of our work in-house (and when we do out-source, we do this with 100% transparency.) This is the reason we can offer flexible, and scalable pricing, unlike other companies that "farm out" or "middle" the majority their work to other "white label" service companies.
Another thing that sets us apart is that we are not only content promoters, but we are content producers and creators as well. We have produced entire albums and directed major music videos. We create social media content. We create websites. We record podcasts, voiceovers, radio spots - all in house.

Will Pilot Light Records sign my band?
Pilot Light Records is a non-traditional record label, in that we do not invest financially in our artists, or take any ownership or profit from their master recordings and publising.
We do invest quite a lot of time, energy, creativity, passion into our clients, providing a custom designed, highly detailed marketing plan unique to every artist.
Who owns Pilot Light Records and where is it located?
Pilot Light Records began as the label services division of Factory Underground Studio of Norwalk, CT, one of the most respected recording studios in the New York/Tri-State/New England region, in business since 2009. In 2024, it formed Pilot Light Records as it's label services division, and then in 2025, it became it's own independently owned company, under the direction of Marc Alan and Ethan Isaac. Pilot Light is still part of the Factory Underground family, located at 16 Isaac Street in Norwalk, CT 06854.
